Enrollment for GRCC’s Institute for Executive Leadership Now Open
GRCC, Rockford University Program Designed for Next Generation Leadership
Greater Rockford Chamber of Commerce

Rockford, IL (July 28, 2026) — The Greater Rockford Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Rockford University, has announced enrollment is officially open for the Institute for Executive Leadership (IEL), a comprehensive professional development program designed to cultivate the region’s next generation of executive talent.
The IEL offers a robust curriculum spanning leadership, communication, change management, finance, marketing, and operations. Participants will benefit from mentoring throughout the program and celebrate their achievement at a graduation celebration.
Through Rockford University, participants have the option to earn undergraduate or graduate academic credit, making the IEL both a recognized credential and intensive professional experience.
“The IEL is a direct investment in the future of our region’s business community,” said GRCC CEO Angela Kay Larson. “Company leaders have told us that their high potential employees can benefit from comprehensive management training and leadership development. This program is designed to help prepare our business community for the next generation of managers and leaders.”
Each quarter, the GRCC releases its business sentiment survey to get a pulse on the overall state of the economy and business health. Repeatedly, succession planning presents itself as an obstacle to growth.
For employers, the IEL represents a strategic investment in succession planning, organizational stability, and long-term growth. Organizations that enroll high-potential employees gain direct returns through stronger leadership pipelines and more capable teams.
Space is limited for the inaugural cohort.
