Greater Rockford Chamber’s Role
We serve as the lead economic development organization for Winnebago County, Illinois, acting as the primary resource for companies seeking to locate or expand within the county. As the central convener of regional economic development partners and data, we drive economic activity in close collaboration with state, county, and municipal agencies, as well as our partners in utilities, education, transportation, and workforce development. We manage project inquiries, respond to business leads, deliver the data and insights companies need, and highlight the sites and properties that position Winnebago County as a premier destination for growth.
The Region
Our region, centered in Rockford, Illinois, sits strategically in north central Illinois and anchors a metropolitan area of more than 330,000 residents. Rockford is one of the largest cities in the state, home to a diverse workforce and a strong foundation of industry, innovation, and community. With a labor force of over 170,000, we draw talent from across the metro, creating a skilled and reliable pipeline for employers of all sizes.
