The mission of the Government Affairs Council is to advocate a better business climate for our members through influencing economic and social policy. The Government Affairs Council brings together all sectors of the business community to create one voice for business. All advocacy efforts made by the Chamber's Government Affairs Council are founded on saving your business money, promoting a strong local economy and protecting the favorable business climate of Rockford, Illinois.

The Government Affairs Council structure is 7:30 AM breakfast meetings 10 times a year (off in July & December), on the second Friday of each month at the Stockholm Inn restaurant. A flat rate is charged strictly for the cost of breakfast to ensure active participation.
