The Rockford Chamber would like to thank our website sponsors:

Lesly Couper, 36
Alpine Bank
Vice President-Marketing & Communications

By Mary Erpenbach

Lesly Couper’s work as vice president of marketing and communications for Alpine Bank involves her in numerous activities, each as different as can be. From corporate meetings at branch offices to planning team-building events and developing popular television ads, Couper has her fingers in many pots. She wouldn’t have it any other way.

“I like my job,” she said. “I get kind of involved in everything, and every day it’s something different.”

A native of Belvidere, Couper has lived in Rockford since 1991. She earned her undergraduate degree in graphic design from Bradley University in Peoria and now is working on her MBA at Northern Illinois University.

Couper’s volunteer activities run a similarly encompassing gamut. As the married mother of two – husband Mark is the CFO for Howe Freightways – she currently is the vice president of the Home and School Association at St. James School.

She is a member of The Carpenter’s Place Board of Directors and serves on a fundraising committee for the Crusader Clinic Health Foundation.

For the past two years she has chaired an immensely successful silent auction for the Rockford Art Museum’s signature Evergreen Ball. The museum’s executive director, Linda Dennis, praised Couper’s dedication to the project, which involves nine months of intense planning, and said that its success is as much a matter of character as it is effort.

“There are many people who serve on boards and committees,” Dennis said, “but there are few who have as deep a commitment as Lesly.
